I think this is a good move, they will not let a controversial ad on they network. I mean, they are really strict with blogs. Plus, by paying out credits, we will see more traffic.
I am picky on which entrecard ads I allow. I don’t even let all of the blog ones go through, so I’m concerned about how many of these third party ones I’ll have to pay to reject.
Maybe they will allow the individual user to chose to allow these ads on their page or not?
Im ok with google adsense as my main ad provider, I only use entre because they are specialized…its what they had going for them.
Truthfully I dont even use entrecard anymore..I never found it worth it because I didnt have the time to actually use it. Im suprised there are even ads being ran on mine..
The way the talk is going over there, you’ll pay EC points to keep an ad from running. There’s a ton of potential to ruin entrecard here, and I’m optimistic it’ll be okay, but I’m realistic about how it could turn out.
The other thing is you aren’t going to get any money for their Entre Card ads, you’ll get $$ when you cash out your EC points. But I’m guessing unless you’re turning out thousands of ec at a time the cash isn’t going to be that big a motivator. Plus with the option to cash out EC points, who’s going to spend them on ads? Watch your 256 ec point per ad sites crash out to 8 or watch no one able to afford their ads.

I am waiting to see what they decide about being able to reject the paid ads. I am not too thrilled with the changes at all.
I will definately be keeping a raised eyebrow on it.

Now that they’ve decided that we can reject ads without paying credits, I think I’m going to stick it out for awhile.
They’re asking for feedback on what sorts of ads we don’t want to see, people should go weigh in.
We’ll see! I’m not so frustrated and angry now, thankfully. I think it was just a LOT of changes, all at once.
I think I can live with it, if there’s no penalizing for ignoring ads. We’ll have to see how it goes I guess and take it day by day.
Somehow I just can’t muster the energy to care…
LOL looks like they reigned themselves in a bit.
