Yeh, thruth finally came out. "But I gassed it up first, so some “incidental” amounts of fuel spilled and soaked into the dry grass packed around the engine. Which may have contributed to my fire." Duh, helloooo. I can't imagine that grass catching on fire w/o the gas soaked into it.

As soon as that axe cuts the head off the chicken they are dead and their little chicken soul is off to whatever afterlife they get. The rest is just nerves.

Just gotta make sure you got them held down pretty good or they throw blood everywhere. A friend of mine said as a kid they'd process chickens 100 at a time. He'd bonk em with a cleaver, then clip off the heads and drop the body into a bucket that way they'd thrash in there.

It's not for everyone, but even a bad experience lets you appreciate your KFC a little more:D

OMG! I just can't do it like the way you do. I tried it once and it felt bad because it took a long time before the chicken is dead.

I always figure if the good Lord would not have wanted us to kill and eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of delicious meat.

Don't apologize for being a vegetarian!

I feel bad for the chicken too, but there's a whole holistic thing going on when you know your meat was treated fair and well from chick to plate. Rather than shoved in some horrible factory.

It gives me a great feeling of responsibility and pride I guess.

PS. I've had that cat longer than I've had my wife...I won't skin him :D He and I have been through too much!

OMG !!! I cannot believe you have just butchered your chicken.

Sorry I'm a vegetarian and this just made me feel sad for the poor chicken. I have no qualms with people eating meat .. I have cooked chicken for friends before .. but to kill it yourself ...

I just didn't believe your post was actually about this so I kept reading and now I'm too scared to look at a chicken without thinking of its guts!!!

Please don't skin the cat !!
